Activities and Programs

Greene County PARA activities and programs include Aerobics, Basketball, Soccer, Little League Baseball, Girls Fast-Pitch Softball, Youth Football, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Tennis, Youth Golf and Youth Karate.

Fall Activities - Youth and Adult

This fall we are establishing a youth football team. PARA will have two teams: Rookies and Juniors. The rookies will start from ages 8 & 9 and can weight up to 85 pounds. The juniors will start from ages 10 & 11 and weight up to 115 pounds.

On the 22nd of August 2009, we will have sign up day at the Greene County Park and Recreation office building. That is located in the same parking lot with the Greene County Board of Education. The time will be from 10am - 2pm (On Saturday).

Fall Soccer

Instruction with a focus on teaching proper soccer skills. Games used as tools to determine progress.

Age Group: Youth 6-15 years
Registration Fee: $10.00 (Included in fee: 1 soccer jersey, shorts, soccer socks, and leg guards.)
Registration Begins: September 7, 2009
Registration Ends: September 18, 2009


Other Fall Activities

Golf Classes will be held from 8am - 11am (On every Saturday) at the Greene County, Robert Brown Golf Course.

Tennis Classes Will be held every Wednesday at the tennis court by the swimming pool. Classes will be held from 5pm - 7pm.

Karate is held at the Eutaw Activity Center on Thursday from 5 P.M - 7 P.M.

Aerobics is held at the Eutaw Activity Center on Monday through Wednesdays from 5:30pm - 7pm.


June Dance Performance Highlights

A Dance Performance was held on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the LAW Building on Lower Gainsville Road.

The performance was under the direction of Tiffany King. In appearance from PARA were: Director Frank Smith, Asst. Director Gentrell Eatman, and Board Member Scott Smith.

The turn out was very successful. We would like to thank eveyone that participated in this event. And a special thanks to the young ladies the performed.
